Material Type Decides the Base Rate

Different metals carry very different values. Sorting Changes What a Buyer Can Offer

Unsorted scrap costs the buyer time and labor to separate before it can be sold on, so it's priced lower. Scrap that's already separated by material — copper wire in one pile, brass fittings in another — saves that work and usually earns a better rate.
