Akashic record reading: what it is and what to ask in your session

Oct 15, 2026

The Akashic records come from Indian and later theosophical thought. The word "akasha" is Sanskrit for ether or space. The idea is that every soul's experiences, across lifetimes, are held in a kind of record that a trained reader can access and ask questions of.

You do not have to accept every part of that idea to get something from a reading. Many people treat it the way they would treat a long, honest conversation about their life: a way to see patterns they had missed.

How a reading runs at Shreevidha Healing Hub

You bring your questions. The reader opens the records with a short prayer or intention, then asks your questions one by one and shares what comes through. You can ask follow-up questions as you go. At the end, the records are closed.

If you choose a reading with healing, part of the session is spent working on whatever came up, for example a pattern of fear or an old hurt that keeps showing up in relationships.

How to frame your questions

The way you ask makes a big difference. Questions that start with "why" or "what can I learn" usually give more useful answers than yes-or-no questions.

Instead of "Will I get married this year?", try "What keeps getting in the way of a lasting relationship for me?"

Instead of "Should I quit my job?", try "What do I need to understand about the work I am doing now?"

Instead of "Is this person right for me?", try "What is this relationship showing me about myself?"

Write your questions down before you come. Three to five is a good number for one session.

What a reading cannot tell you

An Akashic reading is not fortune telling and does not predict fixed events. It is also not a substitute for legal, financial or medical advice. If a question involves your health, your money or a legal matter, speak to the right professional as well.
